ABOUT THE ROLE

The People Partner will work closely with the Director of People and Culture in all things people-related, providing expert advice, coaching, and support to ensure our managers lead their teams effectively, drive performance, and create an inclusive high-performing culture. 

This role will champion the mkodo culture, support the mkodo team, and help every team member succeed.  Working within a small People team, this is a hands-on fast-moving role – that requires a pragmatic, people-focused approach and passion for creating a great employee experience. ❤️

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as partner, advisor and role model to all the mkodo team, championing our values and culture code.
  • Own, manage, and resolve employee relations issues in a kind and effective way ensuring that best practices and employment laws are followed.
  • Proactively improve HR policies, practices and procedures, identifying any gaps in culture and any employment legislation requirements.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and direction to staff and managers, encouraging creative and innovative solutions.
  • Create, maintain, and manage the delivery of a consistent performance management framework, that focuses on embedding mkodo values and enhances our culture, including objective setting, and mid-year and end-of-year reviews.
  • Ensure effective employee feedback/engagement surveys are in place and manage and maintain action plans off the back of these, reporting and trends or outputs to the Director of People & Culture.
  • Improve HR Induction for new starters.
  • Once new hires are effectively onboarded, be the lead on both the HR induction and ensuring consistency on team inductions.
  • Provide the Director of People & Culture with a monthly People report (people metrics).
  • Check and approve all documentation created by the HR Executive Assistant g. employment contracts, offer letters, probationary review letters, etc.
  • Involvement in the recruitment process alongside the Talent Acquisition Specialist, including communicating with candidates, booking interviews, collating feedback, etc.
  • Responsible for planning, implementing, and directing HR programs and projects to align with business strategies e.g. annual volunteer days, ED&I initiatives, etc.
  • Partner closely with the rest of the People team on various programs and initiatives.
  • Lead and develop a proactive Learning & Development program, working with each department to understand requirements.
  • Mentor fellow People team members.
  • Be an ambassador of and contribute to the mkodo handbook and culture code.
  • Support mkodo in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of its ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Adhere to all relevant mkodo ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies, procedures and requirements at all times.
  • Complete any reasonable tasks relating to the mkodo ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS).
